Consortiums such as Open Courseware and Open University Education have made it possible for people to attend free classes online without having to go through the painstaking process of applying to schools they may not otherwise be qualified to attend. Some of the member schools in these consortia include: MIT, Stanford, UC Berkley, Oxford, Yale, Harvard… If there is no Internet access at the home, libraries will let you access the Internet and participate in these wonderful resources for free.
