 First Meeting Wrap-up

Do you have a passion for engineering? Have you always wanted to build a robot? Have you ever been interested in competing in competitions on a national scale?  If so, then S.O.A.R. (Students Of Applied Robotics) is the club for you!

S.O.A.R. is a non-profit club open exclusively for students in the Science and Technology Program. S/T students are encouraged to join, regardless of the track they are on. In addition, teachers of Science and Technology students are also encouraged to help spread the word of the organization.

Students in S.O.A.R will not only have the opportunity to liaise amongst peers with similar interests, but will also be able to team up with peers to design and build robots. Members will also have the opportunity to compete in nationwide competitions such as the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) Student Competition. This year, club members will be working on a solar-powered go-kart that can move at a 15 mph speed.  If members are willing to be “fully committed to the team,” as said by the club’s president Markus Proctor, the club will prove to be a full-fledged force that’s sure to bring the trophy home!

Meetings will be held in Room 408 every Monday and Wednesday from 2:45 to 3:45. Visit, the official club website for any additional information.
